SQU PRODUCTIONS PTY Ltd is a Black Female-owned, Content Hub that creates innovative, creative, and educational (ICE) content for local and global markets. Our services are tailor-made to suit the needs of diverse organizations and broadcasters to enhance maximum productivity in the workplace.
We offer quality services and solutions to clients to enable them to meet their organizational objectives and goals through digital platforms using, Branded Content (Corporate videos and Radio Drama) as our creative tools. We produce Film and Television content for national and international broadcasters. Our goal is to be one of the Top, Black Female South Africans operating Content Hubs recognized for producing content that provokes, captivates and is engaging.
THE WORD “Squ”
The word “Squ” is an abbreviation of the word ‘Umqombothi’ which is the iconic, traditional African Beer. ‘Squ’ is derived from urban-township lingo. Umqombothi is a word that relates to the brewing process which links our company to the art of bringing transformation to our clientele and their target market through customised solutions and authentic content we create.

Disemelo Makhanda
Disemelo has a Nat Diploma in Musical Theatre and B Tech Dance Degree from Technikon Pretoria. She has 30 years’ experience of working in the entertainment industry first as an actress in various TV dramas and stage shows, later working herself up with the vision to later own her production company. She is a renowned Choreographer known for her works Shapes, Triad and Reflexions performed for Dance Umbrella and Arts Alive, Director for Reality Docu and Producer for Regina Mundi -Queen of the Struggle 90 minutes documentary, RDP Drama Series.
Disemelo also has attended and completed ESD programmes with, GEP, SEDA, SASDC, Harmony Gold and Sunlight Women Entrepreneur Accelerator Graduate 2021.
